River rafting along Beas, Black fish
Enroute halt—picturesque places
Manikaran for its religious potential
and hot water springs. Excellent tours to Malana(26 kms)—oldest
democracy of the world and Jamdagini rishi temple. Trek
from Kasol to Grahan Monal(10 kms)—good sightings
of Himalayan Thar and Gorals.
Trek to Kheer Ganga (28 kms both ways)
and sulphur springs, excellent for wildlife viewing. Trek
from Pulga to Mantalai(66 kms) for alpine flora pastures/meadows.
An 18 km trek from Pulga to Roragsar—fresh water
high altitude lake. Horse riding is possible at Pulga.
Good for river rafting and mountain climbing.
Wonderful for wildlife viewing especially brown bear.

Excellent ecotourism facilities and
community-based works can be viewed at Sai Ropa. Trek to
GHNP, Trout available.
Great for wild life viewing.Banjar to Skiran is a 8 km
good quality trek in Oak and Fir forests. Easy sightings
of Monal
and Koklash pheasants. Trek from Gushaini to Kharongcha
is 10 kms and is especially good for ornithology. At Shoja—wonderful
for flowers (iris) and beauty; trek till Jalori Pass. |

The rest-houses are 16-20 kms from
each other. The treks are fascinating. The circuit is very
pleasing and has been
visited by our late PM, Shri Jawahar Lal Nehru & by Penelope
Chetwood—her book on her Kullu travails is enthralling.
Treks are there to Jalori Pass, Sarolsar Lake, Budhi Nagin
Temple. The trek from Sarolsar Lake to Jalori pass is 12
kms
Excellent trek, hike to Parikarma. Route to Takrasi, Paneo,
Tarala.
Excellent trek via Taklech to Daranghati to Sharai Kothi
to Gopalpur and Sarahan. Old Hindustan Tibet road with
its history

Excellent views from Kalpa; Fishing
for trout in Sangla—the
beautiful Baspa Valley; potential treks/trails from Sholtu
to Sangla, to Dodra Kawar, to Uttaranchal via Rani Kanda,
the Mount Kinner Kailash Parikrama. Trekking along the old
Hindustan-Tibet road. Chilgoza belt, Kinnauri shawls and
excellent fruit basket—apple, chuli/behmi, grapes(Angoori
liquor), Kinnaur Lavi Fair, excellent route for wildlife
viewing,
Alpine areas, Going beyond to Pooh and Spiti cold desert
areas, Trek to Pangi village, Chilgoza area. Excellent
for Angoori /Chulli /Behmi liquor ; wild life viewing(Thar,
Snowleopard);

Vast opportunities available for bird
watching, trekking and para gliding (Billing World Cup);
Saurav Van Vihar already
stands developed well. Camping sites can be developed at
Plachak and Sawar. Many important festivals like Losar.
Excellent for religious sites—Jwalamukhi, Buddhist
temples(Mcleodgang the headquarters for Dalai Lama) , Chamunda
temple, Shiva
temple, Mahakal temple etc. Some important treks and trails
are Palampur to Bir, Bir to Rajgundha, Rajgundha to Plachak(15
kms on foot), Plachak to Bir (28 kms by foot), Bir to Multhan,
Multhan to Swar. The Dhauladhar nature park at Gopalpur
is also important. The Kutlehar training center can be
converted
into an eco-tourism center. |

The package can include
boating, horse climbing, ornithology viewing, trekking
and visit of famous religious and historical places(famous
gurudwara at Paonta, Mattra Devi temple, Bagla mata temple,
Balasundri temple).. Some of the recognized treks and trails
are Girinagar-Pardauni-Majara-Khara-Paonta; Simalwara-Matter-Suketi;
Nahan-Dhaun-Rama-Katasan; Trilokpur-Lalita Devi Temple;
Renukaji-Jamdagini ka tila.

wildlife haven, religious places (Laxminarayan, Chamanda,
Seetla, Durga mata at Mehla, Lord Shiva at Chhatrarui and
its famous lake),. The route is from Chamba to Chhatrari
via Darkund & Dunlai to Shahpur(Kangra) via Lam dal,
Kalatop-Khajiar. The trek would do well for boating and
water sports,
